Volunteerism
The Town of Diamond Valley is very proud of the volunteer culture in our community. We all benefit by contributing our time and energy to worthwhile causes that depend on volunteer participation to succeed. Volunteering is a great way to make new friends, develop new skills and abilities, gain valuable employment experience and broaden one's perspective. It also improves the quality of life for our families, friends, and neighbours. Volunteerism makes a big difference.
The Town of Diamond Valley works with local organizations to help connect volunteers with the right volunteering opportunities. We also enjoy recognizing and celebrating our volunteers and their value to our community with an annual Volunteer Appreciation Event.
Local Volunteer Opportunities
The Town of Diamond Valley is proud to have a long history of wonderful volunteers. If you are interested in playing an active role in your community, take a look at the following committees and organizations that are currently in need of volunteers.
Municipal Committees and Boards
One of the many ways to volunteer in our community is to serve on a Committee of Council. Most of the Committees, Boards and Commissions have residents of the Town of Diamond Valley who serve as Members at Large. If you would like information about serving on any of these boards or would like to attend any of their public meetings, please call the Town Office at 403-933-4348, email us, or check the Events Calendar to find out when the next meeting of that Committee is scheduled to take place. Click here for a Committee / Board Member Application.
Family and Community Support Services (FCSS)
Diamond Valley Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) meetings occur on the 2nd Monday evening of each month (except in summer) to make decisions regarding preventative social programming in the Town of Diamond Valley. FCSS programs and services aim to build a strong, cohesive, supportive community. A unique feature of this committee is that one of the member-at-large positions is open to a youth representative who can be a student at Oilfields High School looking to bring the voice of their generation to the table.
Although all positions on this board are currently occupied, please feel free to apply in case a spot becomes available. The completed application can be submitted to Suzan Nagel at SuzanN@diamondvalley.town Applications are available at the front desk of the Town office or at Committee/Board Member Application
Diamond Valley Citizens on Patrol Society
