
The Town of Diamond Valley employs three sworn Community Peace Officers, appointed by the Alberta Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Services under the Peace Officer Act. Additionally, the Town employs one Bylaw Enforcement Officer appointed under the Municipal Government Act.
Municipal Enforcement aims to enhance community safety by educating the public, raising awareness, and ensuring compliance with Town Bylaws, Provincial Acts, and Regulations. Our officers are authorized to enforce bylaws and regulations both through daily patrols and in response to reports from residents.
Our officers collaborate with law enforcement and emergency response agencies to meet community needs. Their duties include, but are not limited to:
- Vehicle patrols of residential, commercial, and industrial areas
- Traffic enforcement
- Animal protection
- Snowmobile/OHV enforcement
- Addressing unsightly properties
- Handling liquor/cannabis offenses
- Noxious weed inspection
- Attending special events to assist with public safety
- Providing public education presentations and programs
