What is an Overweight Vehicle Permit?
An Overweight Vehicle Permit is required for vehicles that exceed the weight limits set for municipal roadways. This permitting process helps protect public infrastructure by ensuring only approved overweight vehicles are permitted to travel on Town roads.
When should I get a permit?
Any individual or organization planning to operate a vehicle that exceeds posted weight limits on a municipal roadway must apply for an Overweight Vehicle Permit.

Applications must be submitted at least 5 business days before the requested date of travel.

What is the cost of a permit?

Single Day Trip Permit – $75.00
Three-Month Permit – $150.00
Annual Permit (1 Year) – $500.00
How will I know if my request is approved?
The Town will notify applicants electronically regarding the status of their application and provide a copy of the approved permit. If a permit is denied, staff will follow up by phone or send a written explanation via email or letter.
Can a permit be revoked?
Yes. Municipal Enforcement may revoke a permit if the applicant fails to comply with the conditions of the permit or if a public safety risk is identified. Fines may also be issued for non-compliance.
