Volunteer Income Tax Program

The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) previously run through Diamond Valley FCSS has transitioned to new leadership through Heather Pfeil, a long-time volunteer with the program. Diamond Valley residents with simple tax situations who are unable to file their own taxes or pay for assistance can access this program. The eligible income cut-off is $35,000 for singles and $45,000 for married couples. Some restrictions apply (PDF). Job/Career Assistance

MGC Careers offers free job/career assistance with workplace skills, job searching, internet basics for work search, resume writing and cover letters, self-employment, interview skills and more. Services can be accessed through the Sheep River Library. Call 403-995-4377 to book an appointment. 

Subsidized Housing

 Westwinds Communities or 403-652-8600 - Applications can be submitted online.  If you need a printed copy of the application, contact FCSS with the town at 403-933-3059 or SuzanN@diamondvalley.town.

Pool Fee Assistance Program

Low-income residents of Diamond Valley may qualify for free pool passes.  Contact 403-933-4348 or info@diamondvalley.town 

Christmas Assistance

Families struggling to make ends meet at Christmas can register with the Oilfields Food Bank for general food hampers and/or "Christmas Dinner" hampers which include a turkey, chicken or ham & all the fixings for 3 meals on Christmas Day…from breakfast right through to dinner.

Pre-registration is required.  You may submit your request using the online form or by calling 403-612-1291.  Please submit requests as early as possible.
