Volunteer Income Tax Program

The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) is provided by Diamond Valley Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) through the Canada Revenue Agency. Diamond Valley residents with simple tax situations who are unable to file their own taxes or pay for assistance can access this program. The eligible income cut-off is $35,000 for singles and $45,000 for married couples. Some restrictions apply (PDF)Completed forms and tax slips can be left at the main town office at 301 Centre Ave W or volunteers can be accessed in person at a pre-scheduled tax clinic. Job/Career Assistance

MGC Careers offers free job/career assistance with workplace skills, job searching, internet basics for work search, resume writing and cover letters, self-employment, interview skills and more. Services can be accessed through the Sheep River Library on Wednesdays. Call 403-995-4377 to book an appointment.

Seasonal Supports

Pool Fee Assistance Program

Low-income residents of Diamond Valley may qualify for free pool passes. Limited quantities are available through the Okotoks Family Resource Centre 403-995-2626. Passes are courtesy of the Town of Diamond Valley.

Christmas Assistance

Families struggling to make ends meet at Christmas can register with the Oilfields Food Bank for general food hampers and/or "Christmas Dinner" hampers. You can register in person Tuesdays between 1 - 3 pm at the United Church in Turner Valley (lower level) or call 403-612-1291 and leave a message. Someone will return your call.  Those requiring assistance with toys for children can contact The Salvation Army at 403-652-2195.

Back to School Program

Low-income families of Diamond Valley can apply for assistance with back-to-school supplies through the Family Resource Centre in Okotoks 403-995-2626.
