On Saturday, September 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., community members are invited to help paint the brand-new mural at the Dr. Lander Memorial Swimming Pool.
Artist Jasmine “Jazz” Randle will guide participants through painting a trout to add to the mural. No painting experience is necessary, and examples will be available to help inspire your fish design.
This event is part of Alberta Culture Days and coincides with the Most Beautiful Art Tour in Alberta and activities at the Sheep River Library in partnership with the Sheep Creek Arts Council.
The mural will celebrate the bull trout — Alberta’s provincial fish, adopted 30 years ago — which spawns at this time of year and is a threatened species. The fish serves as a symbol of resilience and a reminder of our connection to local natural heritage.
All ages are welcome to come and leave their mark on this vibrant community project.
