Public Hearings
Public Hearings are open to the public. They are usually held during a Regular Meeting of Council, but occasionally a Special Meeting will be held to accommodate a Public Hearing. Council Meeting Agendas are published prior to the meeting, and are available online.
Any personal information on submissions made regarding the application is collected under section 4 of the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA). Submissions will become a part of the public record, in accordance with section 13(1) of POPA, and may or may not be redacted in accordance with the Act.
The decision of Council regarding the approval or refusal of a Land Use Bylaw amendment may not be appealed by anyone.
Public Hearings are conducted in accordance with the current Town of Diamond Valley Procedure Bylaw. Public Notices will outline the requirements for submissions to be included in the Council Agenda Package, as well as options for participating in the Public Hearing.
Note: The Agenda Package is typically available the Friday prior to the Public Hearing Date.
