NEW! Update to Waste Services in Diamond Valley – Collection Day Changes

Effective May 1, 2025, the Town of Diamond Valley has made a change to the waste collection schedule.

•  Garbage collection occurs biweekly as of May 1, 2025.

• Recycling and Organics will continue to be collected weekly (Organics bi-weekly from November – March).

Waste Collection Tips:

To help keep collection running smoothly, please follow these guidelines:

• Black Cart (Garbage):
  All garbage must be bagged and tied shut. Loose items will not be collected.

• Blue Cart (Recycling):
  Recyclables should be placed loose in the bin — no plastic bags.
  Exception: Shredded paper should be contained in a clear bag.

• Green Cart (Organics):
  Organic waste must also be loose in the bin.
  Exception: Pet waste may be placed in certified compostable bags.

Any other bagged material will be treated as garbage and may contaminate the waste stream.

• Set-out Time:
  Carts may be placed at the curb after 6:00 pm the night before, and must be set out by 7:00 am on collection day.

• Bring-In Time:
  Carts must be removed from the street by 10:00 pm on collection day.

• Cart Placement:
  Ensure carts are:

  • At least one metre apart from each other and other objects (e.g., vehicles, fences)

  • Placed with wheels facing your home

  • Positioned so lid closes completely

  • Not blocked by snow banks or other obstructions
