Sustainability

"Sustainable Development meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."  -Brundtland Report

 Our Commitment

The Town of Diamond Valley is committed to being a healthy, attractive and economically viable community. We work hard to provide the kind of leadership that makes it possible for our residents, businesses and visitors to enjoy all the benefits of a sustainable future. We're proud of the vision, values and goals we have developed for our great community.

Sustainability Plan

A sustainability plan is really about leaving a legacy for future generations. In 2012, the Town of Black Diamond had incorporated the Municipal Sustainability Plan into the Town's Strategic Plan to ensure that the goals and achievements are reviewed regularly, and are incorporated into everyday decisions.  This will all be reviewed by the new Council of Diamond Valley.

Leaving a Legacy

Developing a sustainability plan is about leaving a legacy for those that will come after us...our children, grandchildren and the generations that will live, work and thrive in this beautiful land. That legacy will be provided long into the future through choices that are consciously embraced today:

  • Accountability
  • Cultural sustainability
  • Economic sustainability
  • Environmental stewardship
  • Social inclusion and responsibility
